Flooded Aerial Copper Telecom Cable

Multipair copper cables for outdoor aerial installations in telecom inter-city applications.
The cable core is made of twisted pairs cabled into groups, jelly filled and tape wrapped with a polyester binder.
Flooding compound is inserted between the polyester tape and the aluminum moisture barrier, which is placed over the cable core
and bonded to an outer black PE jacket.
The cable is suitable for aerial installation using the galvanized steel messenger.
Pair count range: 10 to 200.
Cables with 0.4 and 0.5 mm conductors are used mainly in distribution networks.
Cables with 0.6 and 0.9 mm conductors are used mainly for long-haul installations.

Cable Construction

Conductors Solid annealed bare copper conductors, conforming to IEC 28 and ASTM B3
Insulation Foam-skin Polyolefin conforming to ASTM D1248
Cable assembly Twisted pairs, cabled into sub-units and super-units, cabled in a circular form.
Filling compound Water resistant filling compound, applied to the gaps between the pairs.
Tape wrap Non hygroscopic plastic tape, wrapped with 30% overlap.
Flooding compound Water resistant flooding compound, applied between the core wrap and the aluminum foil.
Moisture barrier 200 micron aluminum/copolymer foil laid longitudinally, bonded to the outer jacket.
Messenger Galvanized steel 7-strand messenger with 120 Kg/mm2 tensile strength, per ASTM A475-66T.
Outer Jacket Black LLDPE compound conforming to ASTM D1248 in a FIG-8 construction.
Surface marking Per request, including sequential meter mark and production date.
